Lightning

Lightning struck our house last night. Neighbor Joe came right over to say he saw it hit the house and he wanted to make sure nothing was on fire. Let me tell you, it was pouring rain out there. And then the lightning with the outrageously loud thunder clap and half our power going out all at once made me scream a little. I just can't help it--I know you all hate it--but what can I do--it was just one yelp for heaven's sake. Anyway, for the rest of the evening there was no red color on our TV. Elmo was all green, but Tess didn't mind. We got most things working again from the fuse box. Here are the permanent damages: my office TV is deader than dead; the modem was fried (fortunately my computer was not hurt--both things plugged into the same surge protector, hmmmmm); Audie's laptop is toast. Today Audie got the new modem and I am once again on the internet (it was a pretty tense 22 hours for me). The cable guy fixed the fuzzy cable, and voila, the red came back. (This makes NO sense at all, but I do not question it.) Still need to replace the office TV and the laptop........
