First things first: I went with Abby and Tess for the recheck today, and Tess does not have a fracture. Having the splint for a week gave whatever was wrong time to heal, and she is now released to walk again--hooray!
Today I went to the chiropractor, got some errands done, charged $60 to fill up the gas tank!, and spent some quality time with Abby (in other words, we did more than just talk about Tess). She is working hard and even enjoying her education. Still looking at three more years to get a bachelor degree, but in 15 months she may be able to start making money with her ASL certificate while going to school.
Going backward through the week: Yesterday Becca and I took a tour of the lodge where we are having the family gathering this Thanksgiving. It looks terrific--can't wait! We also did some thrift store shopping.
Saturday I went to the pancake breakfast with the daughters, granddaughter, and mother-in-law. In the afternoon I got my hair cut--shorter again. In the evening Audie and I went to his Uncle Tom's funeral service.
Friday night was book club. We met at Panera and discussed The Friday Night Knitting Club. Even with a book that didn't seem to have much "substance" (to me anyway), we still find plenty to discuss. It was dark and raining on the way home--I was glad to finally be home safely at the end of the long and rainy week.
